Tales of Arise give background details of Alphen and Shionne

After being introduced on E3 with a trailer, Tales of Arise seems to have many changes compared to its previous series. This is thanks to the battle mode which appears to tend to be more full action without loading at all. Give a little change compared to other Tales series. As we have seen, this game will have two main characters, Alphen and Shionne, who until now only get information on voice actors. Luckily, Bandai Namco gave more detailed information.

Through Famitsu magazine, it is stated that Alphen is someone who loses his sense of taste. Although he could not feel any pain, Alphen's body was wrapped in an iron armor that would protect him from several problems that threatened his body. The man whose life became a slave did not know anything about his identity, but since his meeting with Shionne, he who initially did not have a purpose in life is now trying to be free from the threat of planet Rena with his sword of fire.

While Shionne is a daughter of the planet Rena, her body is cursed by "thorn curse" which makes anyone who touches it feel pain like being electrified. Thanks to the curse he was chased by several troops to bring him to Alphen who could not feel pain at all. Together with Shionne Rifle, they will carry out a revolution on the planet Rena with a goal that is still unclear.

The game's producer, Tomizawa Yuusuke who is also a producer and project manager of the Tales of Vesperia Remaster series, God Eater, and Code Vein explained that the fire sword Alphen pulled from Shionne's chest was one of the key stories. He also explained that Alphen actually had objects that looked like a second sword that could be pulled from his back.

Tomizawa also added that the main theme taken by Tales of Arise was the dramatic story of two different planetary people from Dahna (Alphen) and Rena (Shionne) who had a power they could only use.

When he was asked why he chose "ARISE" as the title, Tomizawa said that actually the name was codename when the project was done. He and his team really hope that this series will be the new face of Tales of the next. In addition, he is also very closely related to the main story, where the main characters must return to rise from the cruel world that puts heavy pressure on them. Therefore they agreed to decide "ARISE" as the title.
