MMORPG is a genre that costs more than the AAA games out there. Apart from the massive cost of making depending on what type of game they will make and the considerable funding of the server, developers and publishers must sign contracts in each country that is representative of the region so that the game can be accessed. Perhaps that is why the number is currently declining unlike a few years ago with many new titles. Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls Online, and GuildWars 2 are just a handful of the many quality MMORPGs released out there. But that does not mean that it makes developers and publishers sluggish and does not try to make it. One of them is Bandai Namco.
Bandai Namco Japan suddenly announced that they were working on a game called Blue Protocol. They described this game as an "onlina action RPG" game that they developed for PCs. While showing the "work-in-progress" screenshot they also announced that the game would be done by Bandai Namco Online and Bandai Namco Studios with their new team called Project Sky Blue.
The game that is done using Unreal Engine 4 has anime art with a combination of colors that not only gives a very thick fantasy nuance, but also modernization thanks to the presence of lights like LEDs on some of the equipment used by its characters.
Bandai Namco describes in the game's logo that the Blue Protocol will take place in a world that will face destruction. He also seems to be giving you the ability to travel in space and explore time. A concept and theme that is quite similar to their Tales of Arise project.
While Project Blue Sky itself is described as a team that will make new Intellectual Property from Japan for the world and the Blue Protocol is one of their biggest projects at the moment. It is unclear what the game will be like, but Bandai Namco himself promised to announce further information in the near future. Let's just wait!
